UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed the Eid Al-Adha prayer on Wednesday morning at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
Joining him were senior members of the UAE leadership, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, ministers, senior officials and worshippers.
The Eid sermon, “Our Eid is sincerity and sacrifice”, focused on the importance of honesty, loyalty and sacrifice in strengthening societies and nations.
Dr Omar Habtoor Al Darei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, said honesty builds trust, stability and national unity, and highlighted the role of loyalty and public service in supporting the country’s continued development. He said honesty is the shortest path to trust and among its most enduring foundations, noting that trust builds strength through which societies prosper and civilisations are built. He added that the UAE’s leadership demonstrated sincerity of purpose and unity of resolve in founding the nation on honesty from the very beginning, helping establish a strong and stable country.
The preacher said honesty reflects loyalty to one’s homeland and sincerity in serving it, through which nations thrive and societies remain strong, while truthful people stand as guardians of their countries through their loyalty and actions.
Following the prayer, Sheikh Mohamed exchanged Eid greetings with worshippers and joined fellow sheikhs in reciting Al-Fatihah in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
In Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, performed the Eid Al Adha prayer at Zabeel Grand Mosque.
In Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, performed Eid Al Adha prayer at Sharjah Mosque, while His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, performed the prayer at Al Zaher Palace Mosque.
His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, performed the Eid Al Adha prayer at Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Mosque, while His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, offered prayer at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mu'alla Mosque. Ruler of Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, performed the prayer at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
