The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) along with the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) get underway in Abu Dhabi today.
Both events are held under the patronage of the UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The largest military exhibitions in the Middle East will showcase the latest in global technology for the defence sector.
In addition, they will highlight the importance of developing policies to enable peacekeeping.

Speaking at the hybrid International Defence Conference in Abu Dhabi, Al Hosani stressed the need for more innovative solutions, adding: "We are very conservative in challenging the normal.
