My car is called Shakuntala and I have a name for my backpack as well \u2013 Betaal from Vikram and Betaal. Get it? Get it?\n\nOk! Before you start judging me let me tell you my favorite story from Istanbul.\nSo, I don\u2019t come across as a guy who would do this but I love helping people and especially old people and homeless (you will be listening to a lot of stories like this one in my future blogs)\nIt was a cold wet day in Istanbul and I was doing my last bit of sightseeing before catching my flight back home. I was visiting a mosque next to the spice market \u2013 Rustem Pasha Mosque. I was just wandering around clicking pics. I saw this beautiful lady sitting in just a shawl when the mercury itself was a freezing 2 Degrees. I really wanted to talk to her; she was selling buckwheat to feed the pigeons outside the mosque. I walked up to her; she pointed her finger towards a bowl of grains, I figured she wanted me to buy one of those. I asked her how much, she showed me five fingers. By now I knew that language was going to be a problem between me and the love of my life. I paid her 5 liras, bought the grains and started a conversation (mostly with hand gestures and facial expressions)\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/FB_IMG_1466409647379.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/FB_IMG_1466409647379.jpg\" alt=\"wanderlust with Parikshit\" class=\"wp-image-60659 aligncenter\" height=\"451\" width=\"672\" \/><\/a>\n\nShe was stunning and had beautiful eyes. I asked her why she was sitting wearing just one shawl in that cold. She shrugged her shoulders and rubbed her thumb against her index finger trying to tell me, she was short on cash. We spoke for about 25 Minutes. By now, I knew that she had a husband who passed away and her children don\u2019t live with her anymore. She was 70! Even in that cold I felt her warmth. I checked my pockets and luckily I had some cash left which I wouldn\u2019t need because anyway I was on my way back to the airport. I went to the spice market bought her a couple of red shawls and gifted them to her. She kept her hand on my head and said something. I hope those words were her blessing. I asked her I could click a picture of her before I leave.I wish I knew her name, I wish I knew how to ask for her number, I wish I could have just hugged her before leaving cause on my way back on the airplane I noticed something \u2013 She was crying when I took this picture. Now scroll back up and see that tear jerking out of her right eye. I believe in the power of internet. If you go to Istanbul just look for this lady around that mosque. Also the best part about going to Turkey is most of the flights are direct, economical and 4 hours 45 minutes away.\n\nSince I don\u2019t really believe in staying in expensive hotels, I stayed in this hotel cum guest house called Empress Theodara. If there is one thing I\u2019ve learned after all these years of travelling is \u2013 Stay in City Center. DO NOT make a dumb move like me. I was bored on a Wednesday; I really wanted to do something over the weekend. So, I booked tickets on Thursday morning for Thursday night. Usually a return airfare from Dubai will cost you somewhere between 900AED to 1300 AED, depending upon the season and advance booking. It cost me about 2250AED. Also it\u2019s more adventurous.\n\nThe best time to go to Georgia is spring (March to May) then summer (June to August) then autumn and then winters (especially if you love skiing).\nThe currency used in Georgia is Georgian Lari and the exchange rate is \u2013 1.67AED for 1 Lari (Variable).  As of now it\u2019s not easily available at most of the exchange houses so you need to request for it a few days in advance. I just used my debit card at the airport ATM.\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g1.png\"><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g1.png\" alt=\"g1\" class=\"wp-image-60921 aligncenter\" height=\"378\" width=\"672\" \/><\/a>\n\n<strong>Backpack and Stories \u2013<\/strong>\nThis was a real adventure. Imagine a really bored guy who books an air ticket to a random destination without doing any research. Also the flight is 12 hours later. I really wanted this. Travelling makes me contented. I was not cancelling this trip even if the world was coming to an end. I don\u2019t know how in Hindi Movies, hero(who realizes that he loves the heroine only when she has left for the airport) does it. Just when she is about to board the flight, hero barges inside the gate and tells her those three magical stupid words. Everyone goes AWWHH without thinking how the hero got past security or why did the Heroine miss her flight which she paid for. You know what they don\u2019t show in the movies \u2013 Post marriage the heroine wondering her entire life \u2013 Kaash wo flight le li hoti.\n\nAnyway, I was on this adventure trip to Georgia, I landed few turbulence and several mini heart attacks later. Also, when you take a taxi from the airport to the main city there will be several cabbies trying to con you, just like any other city. The average cost should be anywhere from 30 to 50 Laris. Also my hotel was again really really cheap, I booked a cheap hotel because there are no good hostels in Georgia. Now this hotel was so cheap that it was in a mall, you literally had to walk into a mall, take the elevator next to the toilet signs and as soon as the elevator doors opened, there was hotel\u2019s lobby. It was 5am so I went and slept.\n\nThe adventure started on the next day \u2013 I got talking to the cute receptionist (that was quite adventurous), she told me she had an uncle who could take me around (I thought ab toh rishta pakka). I waited for a couple of hours and I see this grungy looking, metal listening, head banging guy pulling over in a Mercedes. A thought bubble appeared in my head which said \u2013 Do not tell him that his niece is cute. I sat in the car and made that hand gesture where you try and tell the other person that you\u2019re hungry. He said \u2013 \u201cI know English\u201d, he said it in a way that I almost whispered but I don\u2019t, let\u2019s just stick to sign language. He took me to this amazing local restaurant where we had some local delicacies. Which I will tell you about later in this blog, for now this is how it looked like and it had every local delicacy \u2013\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g2-e1467025150620-1024x576.png\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-60922\" height=\"361\" width=\"641\" \/>\n\nPost a really heavy lunch I wanted to pass out but since I was there for just two days it was a total waste of time. I wanted to see the nearby towns of Tbilisi. My driver \u2013 Vald was ready to show me around. We decided to go through \u2013 Ananuri \u2013 Gudauri to Kazbegi. I will tell you about all of these three place later in the blog but this story is about how I discovered a 14th Century Church somewhere in Mount Kazbegi.\n\nSo, the last tourist spot on my trip was a Russia Georgia Friendship Monument on the Georgian Military Highway. It looked like this - <a href=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g3.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g3.jpg\" alt=\"g3\" class=\"wp-image-60923 aligncenter\" height=\"618\" width=\"683\" \/><\/a>\n\nAfter this spot I asked Vlad \u2013 So, now what? He said \u2013 \u201cNow we go back\u201d, in a really strong Russian accent. I was in no mood to go back to Tbilisi before late night. I asked him if there was something beyond this point. He said \u2013 there was a small town a couple of hours away. Childishly I said \u2013 Well, then let\u2019s go!\n\nI cannot tell you how striking the drive was to this place. Oh wait! I can, it\u2019s a blog. Look \u2013\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g4.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g4.jpg\" alt=\"g4\" class=\"wp-image-60924 aligncenter\" height=\"504\" width=\"672\" \/><\/a>\n\nAfter crossing loads of tunnels and driving through the narrow roads we reached a very small village called Gergeti. There were only few local cafes. I got down to get a coffee, just to give you an idea of how small this place was \u2013 The coffee was made with hot water and adding milk. There were no espresso machines. I spoke to the owners \u2013 I asked them if there was something exciting to do in that town. They said nope! I wasn\u2019t going to lose hope. When I walking to the car I saw a small little structure far away from me on a mountain.\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g5.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g5.jpg\" alt=\"g5\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-60925 \" height=\"486\" width=\"649\" \/><\/a>\n\nI asked Vlad if we could go up there he smiled and said \u2013 My car no go up there in that heavy Russian mafia accent of his. Now my mission was to go up there and I started asking a few local the way up. I saw this really old 4x4 Vehicle coming towards me. I could hear the bass getting louder as that car came closer. I asked Vlad that if this guy could take us up there, to my luck he said \u2013 Yes. We jumped into that car, listening to some trippy dance music. We started driving and as we went further the road started depleting. We reached a point where there were no roads, only several hundred meters fall on both sides. I started wondering if that was a good idea. The road correction the way up there was really really (one more time) really scary, we reached a point where there was a 90 degree turn. I could\u2019ve described it as the Highway to Hell except there was no highway whatsoever.\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g6.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g6.jpg\" alt=\"g6\" class=\"wp-image-60926 aligncenter\" height=\"808\" width=\"646\" \/><\/a>\n\nAfter at least 45 mins of driving upwards I reached this open mountain flat top. Trust me, it was the most fine-looking, serene view I\u2019ve ever had in my life. I started trekking up a little bit more to that structure which was not as small as it looked. I somehow made my way through the slippery track up there and when I reached my jaw dropped on the ground.\n\n<a href=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g7.jpg\"><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/g7.jpg\" alt=\"g7\" class=\"wp-image-60927 aligncenter\" height=\"400\" width=\"682\" \/><\/a>\nAs I walked in I read about this church. It\u2019s called the Church Of Sameba \u2013 A 14th Century church located at an elevation of 2200 Meters on Mount Kazbegi. I stepped inside that small church and it smelled like sandalwood and loads of positivity. I don\u2019t know what happened but all of a sudden everything in my head just went \u2013 Shhhh on me. I knelt down, closed my eyes and prayed for someone. If I could I would\u2019ve stayed there one more day but sadly Vlad had a date back in Tbilisi. I got out and took one more picture of this place. Not a lot of people know about this place hence why if you go to Georgia next time, please come to this place. It\u2019s a very small city with a lot to do. First let\u2019s get the best party places out of the way. Doesn\u2019t matter who you are, where are you staying, every night just take a cab to Shardeni Street. It\u2019s a place for families, friends, couples basically everyone. It\u2019s a 17th Century Castle with some breathtaking views.\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/pic-3.jpg\" alt=\"pic 3\" width=\"687\" height=\"439\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-60932\" \/>\n\n<strong>Gudauri<\/strong> \u2013 Drive further up from Annanuri if you want to experience life in it\u2019s purest form. Gudauri is a ski resort located on the southern slopes of The Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia and you can stop at any waterfall to drink water. Yes! The ticket sales from the official website are like a cute girl in an engineering college, they don\u2019t last long. If you\u2019ve booked tickets from websites like viagogo then all you will get is an email of the confirmation, while people who have booked tickets officially get home delivery of Tomorrowland 'fancy' box with a band inside. You don\u2019t need to panic. I was a bit unlucky; it rained cats and dogs in 2013. So, everywhere else it\u2019s considered really uncool and wanna be to wear Sunnies at night. At Tomorrowland you would need them because the laser show on the mainstage is blinding. It\u2019s a visual spectacle and also very harsh on your eyes. In fact a lot of people have gotten eye issues post this festival. You need to wear sunscreen during the day time as it can get really hot in Boom.\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/bay.jpg\" alt=\"bay\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-61037\" height=\"379\" width=\"674\" \/>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>4 \u2013 The Festival Has Its Own Currency.<\/h3>\nIt\u2019s a very good idea to have a universal currency for the festival. Right from drinks to raincoats; you need tokens. Not only at the festival but also at Dreamville everything is dealt in Tomorrowland Tokens. I suggest buy lots of it, once you run out of them you will have to stand in long queues again. Trust me it\u2019s not only the trippiest place to be at night but also the most gorgeous and unreal looking place at day time. It\u2019s a fairyland quite literally. If you tamper with their art they will tamper with you. Trust me it works. Tomorrowland is not only an EDM Festival but also a place for people to show their funny costumes off. People are really friendly and it\u2019s really easy to strike a conversation with anyone. You will see a lot of national flags on the mainstage but how to stand out? At this festival people dress up as bananas, donkeys etc. and it is the best way to make a lot of new friends to party with.\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/flag-1.jpg\" alt=\"flag\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-61058\" height=\"663\" width=\"315\" \/>\n\n&nbsp;\n<h3>7 \u2013 Ferris Wheel of Tomorrowland.<\/h3>\nIt used to be the Tallest Portable Ferris Wheel in Europe. I think it still is, it\u2019s also the best way to get a perfect bird's eye view of the wide spread festival. This place has several stages and to avoid the sound clash from different stages, they\u2019re situated at quite a distance. That also means a lot of walking. The lines are long but trust me it\u2019s worth it.\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/ferris-wheel.jpg\" alt=\"ferris wheel\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-61042\" height=\"378\" width=\"672\" \/>\n\n&nbsp;\n<h3>8 \u2013 Stages apart from the mainstage.<\/h3>\nOK! This is my favourite part. Tomorrowland has a gazillion stages. Almost everyone there is for the artists performing at the mainstage but there are a lot of hidden\/less popular stages where you will have the time of your life. I will be suggesting you a few stages where you have to go. I mean YOU HAVE TO GO!\n\n<strong>Mainstage of course \u2013<\/strong><img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/main-stage.jpg\" alt=\"main stage\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-61045\" height=\"378\" width=\"672\" \/>\n\n<strong>The  RADIO ULTRA MODERN STAGE -<\/strong> If you don't go there then please don't bother going to Tomorrowland. I am giving you a task. I can post a picture of this hidden stage and tell you where it is but then the feeling of you discovering it and partying there is something else. All I can tell you is it's a very small tunnel. Please allow me to burst that bubble for you \u2013 IT IS NOT. (Insert a bubble bursting sound)<\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Oktoberfest is not only a nightmare for the tourists but also for the locals. <\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Imagine this \u2013 Thousands of drunk people in one small city, most of them can\u2019t find hotels either because of the high rates or no occupancy. So what do they do? They get drunk and sleep on the streets and some even after having a hotel pass out on the streets. I love such people. So what I am trying to say is \u2013 Long Lines, Expensive Hotels and drunk people throwing up everywhere.<\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">BUT!!!<\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Ladies and Gents! There is a hack to get an exact Oktoberfest experience on a smaller scale. You will read about it exclusively on this blog. I simply cannot pick one story. I met so many people, made so many friends and partied so much that I missed my flight. Oh and also this was not the first time I missed a flight due to extreme partying, more on those embarrassing stories later but for now \u2013 People, Places and Football.<\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">When I say I love travelling \u2013 I don\u2019t mean staying in expensive hotels, doing touristy things, dressing up just for pictures or showing off on Facebook. In fact I do the exact opposite. I stay in hostels, I go to local bars and eat at local street joints, I walk around the city to see the street markets, small cafes and I have never ever checked in on Facebook. <\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Travelling for me is living someone else\u2019s culture and understanding someone else\u2019s point of view on life. If we all understood and respected someone else\u2019s way of living this world would be a happier place to live in. On that deep note \u2013 <\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">I love football as much as I love travelling and this is another reason why you should visit Munich during April, its champions League season. I support FC Barcelona but after this experience Bayern Munich became my second team. I realized that Champions League Quarter Final was falling on the dates when I was in Munich and guess who was playing at the Allianz Arena \u2013 BAYERN MUNICH. It was a home leg and Bayern had to win it against FC Porto. I have been to a lot of Football Stadiums but never watched an actual match. This was another thing getting ticked off my long bucket list. <\/span>\n\nI bought a jersey and commenced my journey to the stadium with a guy from the hostel who flew all the way from Canada just to watch this match.<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/20160704_023244-752x1024.jpg\" alt=\"20160704_023244\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-60985\" height=\"529\" width=\"389\" \/>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">I reached the colossal stadium which was still filling up. My seats were quite decent and expensive. Also I was lucky enough to be a part of a Bayern Munich Fans Mosaic. I showered; changed into the best T shirt I had and sprayed some cologne. While singing \u2018Abhi to party shuru huyi hai\u2019 I walked into a small bar of my hostel. As the Music got louder and head got heavier I heard a Hey from my left side. I turned and said heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! What\u2019s upppppp! Go Bayern Munchen in a typical hyper style of mine. Ok! One more thing about me, sometimes I think I get over friendly. I hug and high five people *Facepalm* A lot *Facepalm Again*<\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">Before I could do that the girl said \u2013 Errmmm! Ok! I was just saying \u2013 Hey! It was also Mozart\u2019s, Lenin\u2019s and Hitler\u2019s favorite place.<\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">One more Fun Fact \u2013 During the world war a lot of Soldiers used drink at this place. Due to high occupancy and less seats, sitting here started becoming an issue. Whenever someone used to get up to pee, his seat was taken by someone else. Brawls started happening. To resolve this issue, Germans decided to make gutters inside the hall, under the table. LOL. So, if any of the gentlemen wanted to pee they could just unbutton and conveniently do the business under the table. Now there was one issue with this system \u2013 Splash-backs! (Chhai Chhapp Chhaii! Chappak Chhai) Yuck!<\/span>\n\n<span lang=\"EN-US\">This issue gave birth to another brilliant Idea \u2013 Walking Stick for every customer. Whenever you want to do some under the table business smack your buddy with the stick as a warning. A gentleman decided to cut a cane and lead it all the way to the bottom towards the drainage system. I am sure I don\u2019t need to suggest you to visit other places in Spain. However if only Ibiza is on your mind then the best time to go is during summer. A roundtrip flight would cost you anywhere between AED 2800 to AED 4500.\n\nThe currency used is Euro and make sure to carry a lot of money as drinks and clubs are fairly expensive.\n\nThe airport is absolutely amazing. It\u2019s a small airport and everybody is in the party mood. Trust me after partying all night long you don\u2019t want to hear people screaming on the streets during the daytime.\n\nI was staying in St. Eulalia a small town located on the east coast of the island and very popular amongst families going to Ibiza.\n\nThe life during the day time is slow paced as compared to the main city. If like me, you like talking to locals as well and learn about their way of living then St Eulalia is your best bet. It\u2019s less chaotic and people have time to sit down and have conversations.\n\nThis story is about Janet, a local lady I met in St Eulalia. She was our house help and a really energetic personality.\n\nIt was 4 pm and we were still passed out from our previous night\u2019s adventure. There was someone at the door constantly ringing the bell. No one wanted to get up so eventually, I got out of my cosy bed and crawled towards the door. After waking up I realised that I slept with my sunglasses on.\n\nShe came in and started cleaning the room. I kept saying sorry for the mess. I felt really bad and I offered her some juice. It was our third night in a row at Lan Kwai Fong popularly known as LKF, also your one stop shop for all your party needs. He was a monk. He stood right in front of me, greeted me and gently rubbed my forehead. By this time everyone around me went silent. He took a necklace out from his pocket and wrapped it around my neck. I had nothing planned. Booked the flight tickets and a hostel called The Backpack.\n\nThe flight is about 10 hours long (Direct) and about 13 hours with one stop. I want to travel more. To obvious places, to tough places. I want to travel to learn. I\u2019ve met locals, tourists and travellers. There is a big difference between travellers and tourists.\n\nThis story is about two travellers and very young ones from Germany. I was staying in this really cheap yet very decent hostel in Cape Town called The Backpack. I was greeted with some really big smiles. I entered my room and saw two people snoring away to glory. I walked in trying to be as quite as possible. It didn\u2019t work.\n\n\u201cHey bro! I am Flo and she is my sister Sabina\u201d \u2013 The guy said in his sleepy voice. Thank god he mentioned it before I got other ideas. I introduced myself and asked them if they wanted to party?\n\nOne thing about Sabina \u2013 She would always say NO in the beginning for everything and Flo would be up for anything. Our first night we went out to party on Long Street. The best place to hang out and have a good time in South Africa. We played some ice breaking games and made a fool out of ourselves several times.\n\n*Cutting straight to the point*\n\nSabina was 19 years old and her elder brother was 23 and they both were travelling together. Staying in hostels, doing safaris, spending their nights in tree houses, climbing mountains etc.\n\nThis is where I thought our culture needs a change. How often do we see desi siblings travelling together? Apart from family holidays? I am sure no desi parent would allow a 19-year-old girl to take a break for a year from her studies and travel the world.\n\nNow telling you a little bit about Flo \u2013 This guy was not only up for anything but also very flamboyant. When I was leaving for South Africa a lot of people told me \u2013 be very careful at night, it\u2019s not safe, you might get mugged and stuff. This happened with him. He got robbed the night before I landed. In this situation most of us would not go out or walk on the same streets, he did that. He was like it happens and it can happen anywhere in the world.\n\nWhat I am trying to say here is \u2013 Desi Parents should allow their kids to travel alone. Let them learn about other cultures and way of living, let them meet people who speak different languages, let them learn things the hard way. Trust me, I am very lucky to have a mom who allowed me to do all of the above. Make them street smart, let them see a different perspective of life. It's one of the new seven wonders of nature and it is the most iconic landmark of South Africa. It is also the country\u2019s most photographed attraction and its famous cable car took millions of people to its top. It will cost you R240 for a return ticket. The best option suggested by me would be \u2013<\/strong><\/em>\n<h4>Keep my passport when applying -<span> <\/span><span>Keep your passport while your application is processed.<\/span><\/h4>\nYou can use the Keep my passport when applying service if you need to keep your passport whilst your visa application is being processed.\n\nThis cost is in addition to your visa application fee and is non-refundable.\n\nYou are required to provide a full photocopy of your passport when attending the visa application centre, as well as your passport for examination by a member of the application centre staff. You will also be required to submit your passport within 4 weeks of being asked to do so. If you do not submit your passport within 6 weeks of being asked, your visa application may be refused.\n\nIf you wish to purchase this service online for 57.00 USD. I would suggest Royal Brunei Airlines if you want to fly direct on a budget.\n\nOne-stop flights are usually 9 to 10 hour long and will cost you about the same.\n\nThe currency in the UK is Pound Sterling and you will have to pay about \u2013\n\nAED 4.75 to get GBP 1 (Subject to change)\n\n<em><strong>If you have weight issues, then this is one place where you will be losing a lot of pounds. Get it? Get It?<\/strong><\/em>\n\n<em><strong>Sorry for the joke. It doesn\u2019t make any cents to me as well! Get it? I travel to explore. I travel to meet new people. People who are not like me or I meet in my daily life. This is precisely why I stay in hostels. It was only late night (After partying) I used to come back to the hostel. You were not allowed to do the thing that kills you and ruins your lungs in the hostel. I always saw this guy outside the hostel in an alley right next to it doing that thing with a few other people.\n\nLet\u2019s play a game \u2013 I am going to describe this guy as precisely as I can and you have to imagine how he looks. I will be posting his picture towards the end of the story. So, let's see how you do in this game. Don\u2019t scroll down!\n\nSo, imagine this guy with a very deep voice and a heavy Australian accent. A receding hairline in the shape of a long cursive \u2018m\u2019 and a ginger beard. Very impolite to most people around and awfully short tempered. One of those guys with a bit extra testosterone in their body and alpha male written all over them.\n\nIt was pretty late and while everybody went to sleep we both still wanted to party. We played a game of pool and he kept sledging. The loser had to buy the next round of drinks. As the night progressed his aggressive attitude kept going down and he started opening up. It took a lot of rounds. He said he wanted to go to that small dark alley outside aka designated (get cancer) zone.\n\nA little diary fell down from his backpack while he was looking for the pack. I asked him what was that? \u201cNothing\u201d in that biker attitude of his. After insisting he said Fine \u2013 Look at it!\n\nI opened that really small diary and it had some doodles and some notes in it. \u201cDude, whoever is drawing these doodles tell him that his sketching skills are really bad.\u201d \u2013 I said. \u201cIt\u2019s me mate!!\u201d\n\nThen he said something that changed my perception of him. I know my drawing skills stink and I know I don\u2019t look like a guy who would write Dear Diary Notes every day but I do. A lot of people have told me to stop drawing but I still do it because I want to. This is what makes me happy. This is my passion and I know I am not good at it now but I will improve.\n\nThe alpha male almost broke down. Even he was vulnerable. I would\u2019ve never imagined him writing dear diary notes and sketching in a small diary. I stepped out of that hostel with a completely different opinion about Alex \u2013 The impolite-ginger bearded-extremely competitive guy. Not.\n\nNow, is this how you imagined him?\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/alex-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"alex\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62144\" height=\"675\" width=\"506\" \/>\n\n&nbsp;\n\n&nbsp;\n\n&nbsp;\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Been there done that \u2013<\/span><\/h2>\nI decided to discover the undiscovered London, a bit less touristy things. That\u2019s exactly what I am going to tell you here.\n\n<strong>1 - Take the undiscovered London Walking Tour - <\/strong>It's a free walking tour and it starts everyday from Green Park at 11:00 and  15:00. This walking tour is the perfect introduction to London history and the area often referred to as \u201croyal London\u201d. In addition to all the famous attractions, such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey and Changing of the Guard,<em><strong> you\u2019ll also discover little-known streets, hear anecdotes and stories, and get a feel for the great sweep of London history from Roman times right up to the present day \u2013 a story like no other!<\/strong> <\/em>The tour takes about two hours.\n\nThere\u2019s no charge but tips are accepted. The heart eyed emoji was meant for such alleys<\/em>.<\/strong> It has experienced plague, devastating fire, civil war, aerial bombardment, terrorist attacks, and widespread rioting. The City of <b>London<\/b> is its historic core and today is its primary financial district, though it now represents a tiny part of the wider metropolis of Greater <b>London<\/b>.\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160706_171700.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160706_171700\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62117\" height=\"672\" width=\"537\" \/>\n\n<strong>3 -Take a cruise or walk along the Thames River<\/strong> -<strong> <\/strong>It\u2019s part of the longest river in England, it has 45 locks, is home to over 25 species of fish, boasts three areas of outstanding natural beauty and it\u2019s the only river in Europe to have a national trail follow its entire length. <span>Explore the River as it weaves through the heart of London and discover fascinating history around every bend.<\/span>\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160706_233358.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160706_233358\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62119\" height=\"672\" width=\"537\" \/>\n\n<strong>4 - Visit the Saint Paul's Cathedral<\/strong> - <strong>Did you know - The view of Saint Paul's Cathedral is protected till date. One cannot build a building hiding the view of the cathedral from certain areas<\/strong>. <span>Today St Paul\u2019s is both a busy working Anglican Cathedral and one of London\u2019s leading sightseeing attractions.<\/span>\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160706_234852.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160706_234852\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62122\" height=\"672\" width=\"605\" \/>\n\n<strong>5 - The Big Ben<\/strong> - <span>Though most assume Big Ben to be the name of the beautiful bell tower, it's actually the nickname of the largest bell hidden inside. The entire structure is called Elizabeth Tower. Incredibly, the clock tower's pendulum still depends on pennies for its accuracy. If a penny is added, the clock will run 40% of a second faster every day, and vice versa.<\/span>\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160707_164353.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160707_164353\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62125\" height=\"672\" width=\"619\" \/>\n\n<strong>6 - Explore the Underground system<\/strong> - It's smelly, it's dirty but it's the heart of London. There are a lot of ghost\/haunted stations, read about them. Although, its called the underground but most of it runs above the ground. One more thing that I noticed describes the spirit of London. In the next picture you'll notice a newspaper. It's circulated free of cost, people read them and leave it behind on benches\/in the tube so that someone else can read it. You'll see almost everyone reading the paper on the tube. Such nuances make London a beautiful place.\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_20160707_165451.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160707_165451\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62126\" height=\"672\" width=\"672\" \/>\n\n<strong>7 - Camden Street<\/strong> - Crazy Street Arts, Funky shops, People listening to music on their boombox, food from all over the world. That's Camden for you. This<span> town has been a residential area since the 1790s. But it was only the development of the Grand Union Canal and the improved railway transport that turned it into a bustling part of London. Today, visitors and locals gather here to hunt for treasures in Camden's markets, stroll by Regent's Canal, sample cuisine from around the world and listen to live music. Many famous people, including Dylan Thomas, Walter Sickert and Amy Winehouse, have made Camden their home. Bath and Stonehenge is one of the most popular day tours from London. Travel across the English countryside to the prehistoric monument of Stonehenge and the Roman spa city of Bath. Enjoy the lovely traditional villages in the west of England. It's sometimes not as glamorous as it looks but sometimes it just turns you into a storyteller.\n\nHere is why you should travel alone at least once in your life -\n<ul>\n \t<li><b> <\/b><b>It will feel a bit lonely but only for the first few times<\/b> \u2013 I still remember on my first unaccompanied trip I was a bit awkward. I couldn\u2019t get out of my comfort zone. I was always worried about my budget and I was eating alone (which I hate more than waking up in the middle of the night and hitting your baby toe to the furniture). It will take a couple of trips alone to figure out how it\u2019s done and once you do it you won\u2019t get enough of it. It\u2019s like that first chip you eat out of the bag, once you start you cannot stop.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe width=\"480\" height=\"274\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/3orif02QevxIwIBNpm\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"giphy-embed\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n&nbsp;\n<ul>\n \t<li><b> <\/b><b>Every bit of it is an adventure<\/b> \u2013 The thing with packaged tours is - every move of yours is planned - where to go, what to do, which hotel to stay in, where to eat and you move around in a bus. I am not saying it\u2019s bad, any travelling is good travelling but It\u2019s like you want to eat but someone else chooses the restaurant and what you should eat. Some people will call it marriage but I am single so I don\u2019t get it. When you travel alone you push yourself to talk more and see more. I\u2019ve walked into really dingy bars while on my way to get a coffee, I\u2019ve trekked onto mountains to visit isolated churches -  You don\u2019t know what\u2019s going to happen, you leave your plans open for anything and that\u2019s the best part about it. Right from partying all night long with complete strangers on the streets of Ibiza to walking alone on the streets of Harlem in New York \u2013 I\u2019ve done it all only when flying solo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_20160731_123718.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160731_123718\" width=\"672\" height=\"504\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62418\" \/>\n\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_20160610_141834.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160610_141834\" width=\"464\" height=\"580\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62411\" \/>\n\n&nbsp;\n<ul>\n \t<li><b> <\/b><b>You\u2019ll learn more about yourself and others<\/b> \u2013 I personally feel that you don\u2019t observe much when travelling in groups. You are less approachable because you look busy all the time. You do and see what the guide wants you to see and the free time they give you to explore on your own is never enough. You converse amongst each other; you eat together \u2013 you get so involved with each other that you ignore your surroundings. If travelling makes you a smarter\/better person, then travelling by yourself makes you a super smart\/better person. Once you set off on a solo journey to an unknown place, you start getting to know yourself much better. You are on your own, it\u2019s very liberating. You notice yourself better and your point of view on others and their way of living changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe width=\"480\" height=\"280\" src=\"\/\/giphy.com\/embed\/dKZBZJn4JtZCM\" frameborder=\"0\" class=\"giphy-embed\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n<ul>\n \t<li><b> <\/b><b>You meet new people and make new friends <\/b>\u2013 If you\u2019re an extrovert like me then it\u2019s a wonderful way to meet new people and make new friends and if you\u2019re not then you push yourself to talk to others. The beauty of solo travel is the people you meet. Not only it\u2019s a huge confidence booster but it also tests you. Strike a conversation with fellow travellers and locals (My favourite thing to do), no one can tell you about the place where you are better than a local. I\u2019ve befriended people on a metro, the taxi drivers, in a bar, at my hostel, while asking people just to click a photo for me, went on impromptu dinner dates etc. Trust me, walking up to anyone and starting a conversation is an unwritten rule of solo travelling, also no one minds it. I am sure you must have tried making travel plans with your friends a lot of times but there is someone or the other who drops out at the last minute. People start leaving your travel related WhatsApp group one by one and people who manage to go with you tie you down. When you\u2019re alone you\u2019re not obliged to entertain anyone. You can waste your entire day sitting on a beach sipping on drinks or you can go for sightseeing \u2013 you\u2019re not answerable to anyone. Logistics become simple. Don\u2019t wait for someone to join you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<img src=\"https:\/\/city1016.s3.amazonaws.com\/city1016\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/IMG_20160718_135733.jpg\" alt=\"img_20160718_135733\" width=\"538\" height=\"673\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62416\" \/>\n<ul>\n \t<li><b> <\/b><b>What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas or any other destination<\/b> \u2013 Do anything without the fear of being judged. I have this thing where on one night I just take a metro and get down to an unknown stop. Look for speakeasy places. I\u2019ve had some really fun encounters there, some I\u2019ve shared and will share in the future and some I just keep to myself. You need a lot of arm strength and lower back strength to survive this ride. One more suggestion - Everyone wants to eat something unhealthy after a long night of partying - Go to this hole in the wall pizza place at Wenceslas Square. I don't remember the name but its a very small take away only shop right in front of the tram stop at Wenceslas. It's a spa town in the west Bohemian region of Czech Republic. Admire the hot springs or pamper yourself with an exotic massage. She is an ex Supreme Court lawyer and an ex teacher. Now a home maker and a part time tarot card reader. She's on her way to Goa for a school reunion after 25 years. Mrs. Jalali really wanted to go for her reunion but she was hesitating to travel alone, her 15 year old son pushed her to book her tickets hours before the flight. It was her first time she broke out of her household routine and she didn't even know who was going to pick her up. All the best Mrs Jalali! Off roading\nLet me remind you I haven\u2019t been on a bicycle from past 20 years.\n\nI didn\u2019t like it at first but then I got the hang of it!!\nI would strongly recommend the mountain biking experience in Nepal. It would cost you around AED 350 with a personal guide and there\u2019s a level for everyone. It just hurts a little the next day.\n\nAfter resting it was time to do some sightseeing.\nI booked a cab only to myself for the entire day and what a story that cab ride was! Entertainment system instead of the rear view mirror and after getting introduced to B grade Bollywood music my first stop was pashpuati nath.\nWhere I also met this extremely interesting character. Of course who just wanted me to heavily tip him.\nPost that me and my taxi driver shared some heavy late lunch and arrived at our next stop \u2013 the bodh stupa.\n\nI had the best adventure of my life in Nepal (literally), if you are an adventure\/adrenaline junkie as well then just book your flight right away.
